Painkillers

We often use painkillers without thinking about what impact they might have on our body or what are the active agents that actually reduce our pain.

I wanted to present the complex biochemical reactions and pathways underlying the mode of action of painkillers in pictures and words that are easy to follow and understand.

I focused on the most common class of painkillers which are the NSAIDs (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). This class contains, amongst others Ibuprofen, Aspirin and Diclofenac (Voltaren).
